Enoch Hill Onshore Wind Farm
Project: Enoch Hill Wind Farm
Location: East Ayrshire, Scotland
Client: Nordex UK
Provision of Cranes & Skilled Technicians for Installation of WTGs; Mechanical & Electrical Completion
Global Wind Projects successfully completed this scope of work for Nordex UK - which was commissioned by RWE to manufacture, deliver, and install 13 x N133 Delta4000 series and 2 x N117 Delta series turbines at Enoch Hill Wind Farm in East Ayrshire. Our scope included the provision of cranes and skilled wind turbine technicians for the installation of the WTGs, as well as ensuring the mechanical and electrical completion of the project.
Throughout the duration of the project, more than 30,000 hours were worked by Global Wind Projects personnel, including 30 technicians, five crane operators, a project manager, site manager, site agents, and HSE advisors, along with our incredible business support team - without whom projects like these wouldn’t be possible.
In partnership with our sister company, Global Cranes Services, the Liebherr LTM1750 was deployed for this project, carrying out seven lifts per WTG - a total of 105 component lifts over the course of the project. On average, it took one day per WTG for pre-installation works and 3.9 days for each main installation. The drivetrain was the heaviest lift at 73.3t, with a total load - including the crane hook block, drivetrain and lifting gear - of 77t.
