Global Wind Projects recognised for health and safety excellence at Siemens Gamesa Contractor Day in Denmark

Global Wind Projects recently attended the Siemens Gamesa Offshore Contractor Day at the Bluewater Shipping offices in Esbjerg, Denmark. We were invited to take part in the programme and host marketplace sessions, where we presented our employee engagement model and shared examples of improvements made since its introduction.

Andrew Lount, our HSEQ Director, who attended the event alongside our General Manager Ryan Burke, commented: “It was great to be part of the Siemens Gamesa Contractor Day. We’re proud to receive the Health and Safety Performance Award for our work on the NnG Pre-Assembly Project. This recognition is down to the commitment of our site teams, whose hard work and focus on doing the job safely every day set the standard on site. Thanks to Siemens Gamesa for the recognition and continued partnership”

NnG was Global Wind Projects’ first offshore wind project, where we provided cranes, installation personnel, and ground transport, in partnership with Forth Ports, for the pre-assembly of 54 offshore wind turbine towers. Over the course of the project, Global Wind Projects personnel worked a total of 180,707 hours, with 90 specialists deployed at the Port of Dundee, including 42 blue-collar workers, 10 white-collar staff, and four crane drivers.
