What is your current role within Global Wind Projects?

Kevin started with Global Crane Services initially as the Project Manager for the Seagreen marshalling contract at the port of Nigg, overseeing the loading in, transportation and storage of the offshore wind jackets, as well all lifting operations involved in the loading out and preparatory works on the jacket. With Global Wind Projects now launching, Kevin has taken on the role of Head of Wind Operations.

Your previous industry experience:

Kevin has worked in the Construction Industry since the age of sixteen and has been part of the Wind Industry for just over a decade. He started within the Wind Industry as a Technician, before progressing into Supervisor and Site Management roles where he was involved in the installation of both Onshore wind farms and Offshore preassembly sites across Europe. In due course Kevin progressed into an Operations Manager role assuming the responsibility for the successful execution of wind projects globally.

Do you have any Professional Goals/ Aspirations for the industry?

Kevin’s long term professional goal is to is to progress to one day being an Operations Director or COO, though continuous professional development and upskilling Kevin aspires to garner the tools and skillset to meet his goals.

Kevin has witnessed significant change within the Wind Industry over the last decade with improvements in the management, execution, and delivery of projects. With a keen interest in Lean methodology Kevin believes the further utilisation and implementation of these concepts will lead to continued improvements of the operational delivery of Wind projects.

What inspires you?

Good leadership – Leaders who listen and a can guide and inspire those whom they lead to better themselves.

Bold Leaders who are not afraid to take risks and who believe in their people and empower them to confidently use their own initiative.

Leaders who can see that everyone has something different to offer no matter how big or how small.

Open-minded people who embrace change and who continuously look for means and methods to improve.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

Always try and be the better person in every circumstance.

It takes all types of people to make the world turn as everyone is different.

Kevin recently achieved Chartered Construction Manager status with the CIOB, marking a proud milestone in his Continuous Professional Development journey.
